Reserve your place for our 9th Annual Trisutto Vernon BC Training Camp. Join long time Trisutto / Team Barnes Multisport Coaches Michelle and Gary Barnes for individual advice on your swim, bike and run while training in Okanagans best kept secret.

This camp is suitable for all fitness levels but especially helpful for anyone racing Ironman Canada or later summer Ironmans, 70.3s or either of the Ironman World Championships in Nice or Kona.

Lodging

Athletes book their own accommodation; plenty of lodging in Vernon (Air bnb, hotels, motels). Camp starts from 7911 Brooks Lane, Vernon most days so for convienance accomodation close to this address will be easiest.

Travel (nearest airport)

Kelowna International Airport is the nearest airport about 30 mins from Vernon.

What's Included

All swim (pool and open water), bike and run coaching (max 6:1 athlete/coach ratio), running singlet, swim cap, pool fees and some nutrition/snacks.

First 3 sign ups will receive a remedial/sports MASSAGE from Michelle.

Tentative Schedule 

(flexible due to weather/ athletes level of fitness)

Monday July 6th: Bike Day - AM hill reps, afternoon open water swim, second bike off swim.

Tuesday July 7th: Run Day - AM Track/hill reps workout, lunch open water swim, trail run/hike off swim. 

Later afternoon PM Trisutto/Team Barnes Multisport swim, bike, run , fuelling and race seminar with Q & A.

Wednesday July 8th: AM pool swim, choice of Silverstar  Climb or Armstrong ride (3hrs).

Thursday July 9th: AM Long 3.8 km Ironman training swim at

Kal lake (shorter option available), optional additional ride / run. Afternoon recovery on pontoon boat.

Friday July 10th:  Long lake loop ride Vernon Kelowna return  (150km), shorter option to do out and back from Vernon.

Saturday July 11th: Long Run along flat packed gravel Okanagan rail trail (varying duration depending on athlete), group breakfast then recovery swim at Juniper Bay.

Agenda

Aspects that are covered during the week long training:

  • Training philosophy –  learn Trisutto.com principles of periodisation, the training mix, psychology + physiology, athlete development and the use of races within these considerations.

  • Swim training – techniques for the individual athlete, use of swim tools, stroke correction, open water practise and strategies for racing.

  • Bike training – bike position positioning when racing, aerodynamics, technique for the individual athlete, bicycle and component selection, skills, tools.

  • Run training - technique for the individual athlete, shoe choice, use of run tools (hills, track, treadmill, road).

  • Triathlon – integration of swim, bike and run into the one training approach.

  • Injuries – prevention, treatment, athlete mentality and training around or through them.

  • Race execution – strategy for the individual athlete and season goals.

  • The camp program will be sent to the athletes a week before the camp starts.
